However, along the way, you can get lots of cosmetics and badges by completing various side objectives. One of these is the Participation Badge. Here is how to get this badge.

The Participation Badge has a simple description. However, it can be quite misleading if you do not know its unlock requirements.
Have a friend escape the island without you.

Have a friend escape the island without you.
This might indicate that you do not need to escape the island. However, there are some hidden conditions in which this achievement cannot be obtained.
First and foremost, you must be a ghost while your party escapes the island. Any other state results in the badge being out of reach. For example, if you are simply at the base, while your friend escapes, you will not get this badge.
Moreover, even being unconscious does not count towards getting this badge. As long as your death timer has not ticked down, you cannot get the Participation badge. Therefore, you might be confused when your friend escapes and you still do not attain this achievement.
So, the easiest method to get this badge would be to accompany your friend for most of the journey. Next, once they are ready to escape, fall off a cliff, and wait for the death timer. Lastly, after you have turned into a ghost, your teammate can escape, netting you the Participation Badge.

What Do You Get For Obtaining the Participation Badge?
Badges in PEAK are not just for flexing on your profile. They have an in-game benefit as well. Badges unlock in-game cosmetics for your character. You can get the Castaway Outfit once you unlock this badge.
