Death Stranding 2 is a difficult game. This is not because the game is a Souls-like hardcore death-fest, but more so because of the game’s unique mechanics. There’s a ton of mechanics to master, and the game frequently tests your mastery of all through environmental hazards and challenging enemies.

In order to fine-tune your skills and perfect the game’s unique mechanics, Death Stranding 2 has a VR Training Room. No, you don’t need an actual real-life VR headset for this. It’s just in the name.

As part of the VR Training Room, you get to practice two different gameplay loops. The first is the Porter gameplay loop. This gameplay loop is more concerned with the delivery aspect of the game. The second is the combat loop, which is pretty self-explanatory.

If you feel you’re not as sharp as you could be with Death Stranding 2’s gameplay mechanics, then the VR Training room is for you. If you don’t know how to use the VR training room, then keep reading below to learn how.

In order to use the VR Training Room in Death Stranding 2, you first need to make your way to any of the Private Rooms in the game. If you don’t remember what these are, the Private Rooms are the rooms where you sleep. There are several Private Rooms in the game, so head over to whichever is closest to you.

Once you’re inside the room, you’ll be sitting on the bed. Face the door to your left, and the game will show you the option to “View/Test Weapons.” Press Square to select this option, and Sam will then walk over to the next room. Here, you will find a VR Headset hanging from the ceiling. Interact with the VR Headset by pressing Triangle, and the game will then show you all its training modules.

There are three training modules, which are given below:

  • Porter Fundamentals Program: This goes over the basics of the delivery gameplay loop.
  • Porter Mastery Program: This goes over the more detailed elements of the delivery gameplay loop.
  • Weapons/Combat Training Program: This allows you to test out weapons and goes over the basics of combat.
