The world of Death Stranding 2 is bizarre, filled to the brim with dangers that can crush you like a bug. Sam is no super soldier either, and each job you take requires you to proceed with utmost caution. That is, until you start unlocking more and more of the APAS Enhancements.

APAS Enhancements are special upgrades that improve Sam’s overall performance and efficiency on the field. This allows Sam to do all of his tasks better, making the game easier overall. Death Stranding 2’s APAS Enhancements are spread across four different traits. These traits are Porter, Combat, Stealth, and Servicemanship. We shall discuss them in detail below.

As stated earlier, the APAS Enhancements are split across the following trees:

  • Porter: This tree is mostly concerned with your traversal skills. It allows you to analyze your terrain better, making journeys easier as you upgrade the tree.
  • Combat: The second tree is the Combat skill. This skill, as its name suggests, is purely tied to your combat scenarios. By unlocking combat-related APAS Enhancements, you can improve your efficiency in combat by making your bullets stronger.
  • Stealth: This tree affects your overall performance when sneaking around enemies. With skills under this tree, you can reduce your footstep noises and work more toward being a ghost on the field.
  • Servicemanship: This tree allows you to improve your analysis and resource tools, better preparing you for the journey ahead.
