Death Stranding 2 features a Ghost Monorail you may encounter while exploring the Land Down Under. There are a couple of prerequisites involved with coming across this phenomenon. I have only come across the Ghost Monorail once, and it doesn’t seem like it’s location-bound.

Death Stranding 2: Ghost Monorail, How To Encounter, and More

What Is the Ghost Monorail in Death Stranding 2?

The Ghost Monorail in DS2 is a monorail flying in the sky. There’s only one container, with the rest sections being empty. It has red lights/hues all over it. You will hear the usual monorail sound with a little ghastly touch-up if the Ghost Monorail is nearby where you are.

The Death Stranding 2 corpus calls the Ghost Monorail the “soul train”:

“A vehicle of macabre liberation that purifies all souls still bound by lingering attachments to this world, transporting the dead to the other side.”

The corpus tells you to close your ears and not look at it directly.

When Can You See the Ghost Monorail in Death Stranding 2 and Where?

The Ghost Monorail appears at night and with a clear sky/weather in my experience. I encountered the Ghost Rail twice near the Animal Shelter. But I do not think that it is location-bound and can probably be found in other places.

The Ghost Monorail will fly over your head and roam about. It seems harmless if you just notice and look at it. If you try to attack it, you will be unable to do so. At that very moment, a horde of human-like BTs with red hues in their chests will rush towards you. They will burst as soon as they hit you, costing you blood. Once the BTs are gone, you will find plenty of Chiral Crystals on the ground.

I was driving the truck when I heard the Ghost Monorail. I took out the Quadruple Rocket Launcher and aimed, but couldn’t pull the trigger. I noticed eerie screeching and howling a second later. When I turned around, I found about five or six BTs rushing towards me. They detonated as soon as they hit me and left a lot of Chiral Crystals on the ground.

For now, I do not think the Ghost Monorail can be destroyed. If I find any further information, I will be sure to update the guide.
