In this guide, we’ll explore how you can start and finish the Trail of the Red Scorpion quest in Dune Awakening.
Dune Awakening has two warring factions – House Atreides and House Harkonnen. It is up to you which of these you want to join. You cannot be in both factions in a single playthrough. And being in a faction also means completing various quests for them. As you complete these quests, you’ll begin to curry favor with your faction, unlocking valuable rewards.
One of the faction quests is named ‘The Trail of the Red Scorpion,’ and you can pursue this quest as both a member of Harkonnen or Atreides. In the following guide, we’ll explore how you can complete ‘The Trail of the Red Scorpion’ quest in Dune Awakening as a Harkonnen member.
How To Start The Trail of the Red Scorpion Quest in Dune Awakening
The quest begins when you speak to the Harkonnen representative, Simone Von Konig, after completing the Interrogate Trip Yates quest for the faction. Konig will tell you to head to Imperial Testing Station No. 142 to recover a cargo from a Sandfly member, dubbed Red Scorpion. Right after your conversation with her ends, you’ll get the objective to locate Imperial Testing Station 142. This is in the Eastern Shield Wall region, and finding it shouldn’t be too much of an issue if you already have a Survey Probe up in the region.

How To Complete The Trail of the Red Scorpion Quest in Dune Awakening
Once you reach the testing station, drop down into the huge hole in the ground. Don’t go all the way down, but drop down to the landing just above. You’ll find a door on the southeastern side with some enemies firing at you. Proceed through the base until you reach a red Solido Projection. From there, head down and move through the south hallways and rooms. Keep in mind that this area is swarming with enemies that you’ll need to kill.
Proceed downstairs and to the west from a glass case that has a few enemies around it. After getting through there, you’ll get inside a room where you’ll pick up an ID band. After that, keep proceeding downstairs, all the while slaying any foes in your way. Soon, you’ll come into a room that has several enemies, with one wielding a flamethrower. You will need to kill all of them to open the way forward. Go through the door and proceed down the stairs even further. Keep going to the east and head down until you reach a cavern area. Watch out for any snipers that you might find on the rafters. You will have to fight a couple more flamethrower enemies here.
In the final area of the caverns, you’ll have to face down the Red Scorpion boss. You can identify him with his red armor that looks different from the other foes in the area. You can take out all of the enemies, including the Red Scorpion. After that, retrieve the documents from a chest right near where the boss was. Return the information you unearthed from the testing station to Simone Von Konig to end the quest and earn the 700 XP as a quest reward. You will also improve your standing with House Harkonnen.
