Death Stranding 2 Episode 8 Walkthrough Guide

After delivering some pizza and casually sabotaging a weapons factory in Death Stranding 2 Episode 7, Episode 8 sends Sam to the Strange Realm, where you need to escape. Shortly after leaving the other dimension, you are back to doing more cargo deliveries. For a change of pace, the last main order in this episode is actually a rescue mission.

Death Stranding 2 Episode 8: How To Complete

After shaking your hand with the man in the massive wall of tar, Sam gets yoinked to the Strange Realm. With that said, you will need to escape this strange dimension. After all, those cargos won’t deliver themselves. 

Return from the Strange Realm (Main Order 31)

This sequence is pretty straightforward. Just follow the linear path, shoot enemies that get in your way, and you should be fine. You’ll also get to meet Neil, who will be important to the plot in the coming episodes. Once you escape the Strange Realm, the DHV Magellan is already waiting for your return. 

[Do Not Submerge] Deliver the Cryptobiote Variants to the Chronobiologist (Main Order 32)

Order 32 tasks you to convince a Chronobiologist in a shelter to link to your Chiral Network. To do that, you need to prove you are useful to them by delivering a cargo. However, the cargo should not be submerged in water, or else it can get damaged. Make sure to avoid bodies of water whenever possible.

Once you reach the destination, deliver your cargo and have them confirm the delivery as completed. It’s a snowy area, so it can be a bit annoying to navigate. Aside from the Chronobiologist linking to the Chiral Network, you also get a cute little trinket for your Backpack as thanks for your service. 

Once your delivery is done, you will head back to the DHV Magellan and watch some cutscenes before ending your day. 

Deliver Timefall-Resistant Emu to the Metagenomicist (Main Order 33)

Your next mission in Death Stranding 2 Chapter 8, Order 33, is to find a Timefall-Resistant Emu and deliver them to the Metagenomicist. These animals can be tricky to catch as they can run away if they sense you as a threat. You will have to be sneaky if you want to catch one.

Head back to your vehicle and make your way to the marked location where you will need to find an Emu. Patience is the key to catching this rather jumpy creature. Don’t rush towards them as you will only scare the Emu away. You can run if you are starting to lose them. However, if they are not alerted, try and sneak your way close to them.

The location will have a lot of tall rock walls that can be used to box the emu and prevent it from moving too far. Try and force them to run towards these walls to lessen their options for escape. If you think you are ready to catch the Emu, drop your cargo so you can run faster. Once you get them, they get packaged into a box that you can place on your back along with the other cargo.

It’s a long walk back to your vehicle if you chased it away too far, so be careful not to fall over. Once you’ve got the Timefall-Resistant Emu, head to the Metagenomicist and complete the delivery.

Deliver All Chiral Microbes to the F5 East Distribution Centre (Main Order 34)

After your wild Emu chase, your next task is to deliver Chiral Microbes to the F5 East Distribution Centre. Traveling to the location will not be an easy task. You will most likely encounter some obstacles while traveling, like a gate quake or a giant tentacle tar monster. 

Once you reach the distribution centre, send in the delivery and have them link to the Chiral Network to complete the mission. 

[Elimination] Extract Data from the Ghost Mech Fabricators and Destroy Them (Main Order 35)

After your straightforward delivery mission, Order 35 in Death Stranding 2 Episode 8 tasks you with extracting data and sabotaging the Ghost Mech Fabricators. Make sure you make preparations for hostile encounters. Make sure you unlock some combat passives in your APAS Enhancements, like the Aim Assistance or Improved MP Bullets.

Once you are in the location, there will be three fabricators marked for you. You need to find these to hack and destroy them. There will be hostels along the way, so have your weapon at the ready.

Once you finish gathering the data and destroying these fabricators, you can head back to DHV Magellan and submit the data you stole. This should mark the end of your order mission. 

[Hazardous] Deliver a Meteorite to the Adventurer (Main Order 36)

Your next assignment, Order 36, is to deliver a meteorite to the Adventurer on a snowy mountain. Sounds easy, but there’s a catch. If the cargo container is damaged, it will start leaking toxic gas. Your uphill climbing on snow-covered ground can also add to the challenge. This means you need to be extra careful not to damage it too much.

As you climb up, you may encounter a snow blizzard. This will make it harder to see what’s ahead of you. If you want quick navigation, the Tri-Cruiser Bike is quite efficient when climbing mountains. It’s also less bulky, allowing you to easily control it on snowy plains.

Once you reach the location of The Adventurer, the blizzard should clear out, and you’ll be able to see the bunker. Drop your delivery and have them be added to the Chiral Network. However, there is a problem, the one in the bunker is not The Adventurer but his son, so he cannot confirm the order as completed. According to him, his father is out in the snowy mountain, and you need to find him, which leads to Order 37, the final one before Death Stranding 2 Episode 8 ends.

Rescue the Adventurer from the Snowy Mountains (Main Order 37)

This final order is pretty straightforward, but the terrain is not making it easy. Drive your way to the marked location, and you’ll eventually see The Adventurer lying dangerously close to a cliff. 

Get him ethically packed for transportation, but be careful not to fall off the cliff while organizing your cargo. The path is quite narrow, and one wrong step and you might be the one needing to be rescued next. You might need to walk your way back to The Adventurer’s bunker.

Once that’s done, you get to complete both Order 36 and 37, and connect The Adventurer and his son to the Chiral Network. A little fun fact, the duo are special appearances. They are face scans of the popular Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli and his son Karthikeya.
