The Spare Ammo Container is an ammo pouch backpack attachment that allows you to carry spare ammo for the field.
The world of Death Stranding 2 is harsh, and the game minces no words to let you know so. Enemies are around every corner, and they will not hesitate to gun you down. Even if you somehow manage to evade them, you still run the risk of encountering the horrifying BTs. Regardless of whatever threat you run into, a good number of bullets can often bail you out. In order to carry a good number of bullets, you need the ammo pouch.
Death Stranding 2 has an ammo pouch in the form of the Spare Ammo Container. The Spare Ammo Container is a backpack attachment that allows you to carry spare ammo, ensuring you always have enough ammo to put a few bullets into your enemies. How To Unlock the Spare Ammo Container (Ammo Pouch) in Death Stranding 2

Before you can go about using the ammo pouch, you first need to unlock it. You can unlock the ammo pouch by unlocking the backpack attachments as a whole. You do so by connecting the Government’s Base to the Chiral Network. Once that’s done, you can then equip backpack attachments.
After unlocking the attachments, you can craft the Spare Ammo Container using 30x Metals, 30x Resins, and 30 Chemicals. You can equip this attachment by accessing the Component submenu in the Backpack Customization menu.
In order to use the Spare Ammo Container, you simply need to equip it. Now, take note that the Spare Ammo Container is not an extended magazine. You won’t see your extra ammo in your current pouch or magazine. Instead, it is a pouch that carries spare ammo that you use once you are out of ammo. This means you first need to use your current pool of ammo; only then will you be able to access the spare ammo in the pouch.
