Despite all the horrors Death Stranding 2 throws at you, nothing comes close to causing frustration quite like the bats.

The world of Death Stranding 2 is beautifully crafted and, depending on who you ask, might be the best one Kojima has ever made. As you go about exploring this world, you’ll find yourself face-to-face with unexplainable horrors, making you question the genre of the game itself. Despite whatever horrors the game throws at you, nothing comes close to causing frustration quite like the bats.
Yes, in a world filled with MULEs and BTs, it just might be the bats that pester you the most. Bats roam around in swarms and waste no time descending hell onto you if they spot you. They can swarm you with ease and chip away at your HP and leave more than a few scratches on your vehicles.
While bats may be a total nuisance, the whole ordeal is worsened by the game not telling you how to deal with them. You may be tempted to gun them all down, but that is a waste of both bullets and time. If you’re looking for the right way of dealing with bats, you’ve come to the right place.

As stated earlier, gunning the bats down is far from a viable strategy. It is a waste of ammunition, and it’ll take you forever to gun them all down. Instead, you can get the entire swarm of bats in one go by using a grenade.
There are a few types of grenades you can use for this task, but the Blood Grenades are the first type of grenade you find in the game. To unlock this grenade, you need to progress through the story and complete Order No. 004. Once you’ve unlocked the Blood Grenade, you can then craft it using 40x Chiral Crystals and 25x Resins.
With the grenade crafted, all you then need to do is equip and carry it to the field. As the bats approach you, throw the grenade a little before you and watch them swarm into an explosion. Just be careful to not toss the grenade on your own feet.
