Death Stranding 2 throws you into a dangerous apocalyptic world where strange entities patrol the land. These entities are dangerous, and as you play as Sam Bridges, you’ll frequently find yourself unequipped to deal with them. What you won’t find yourself unequipped to handle, however, are the various deliveries. You’ll be delivering a ton of goods and cargo in Death Stranding 2, and you’ll be able to do so thanks to the game’s immaculate traversal system.

There’s a ton of depth to Death Stranding 2’s traversal system, with tons of mechanics for you to master. Each mechanic you master adds a layer of depth to your movements, making each journey easier with practice. The double jump is one such movement mechanic in the game, and one that quite a few people aren’t aware of.

No, the double jump in Death Stranding 2 is not like the double jumps of old, where the character stays in mid-air and then performs a flip for a second jump. Instead, it’s a much more realistic take that sees Sam leaping farther to cover double the distance with a single jump.

The double jump is one of the better ways to cover gaps in Death Stranding 2 and can often help you get out of a pinch if enemies are tailing you. If you wish to know how to double jump in Death Stranding 2, keep reading this article.

As we stated earlier, the double jump in Death Stranding 2 is more of a wide leap. Therefore, in order to double jump, you first need to acquire momentum, and sprinting is the best way to do so. Stand at any point and begin sprinting by pressing L3 while moving. Sam will quickly pick up speed, though it takes a bit of time to reach maximum speed. The less weight you carry, the easier this is.

Once Sam is moving at full speed, simply press the X button twice, and Sam will perform the double jump leap. When sprinting, you also need to consider the terrain. You can’t reach maximum speed when going uphill, and sprinting downhill increases the risk of tripping and falling. Keep the terrain in mind and use the double jump accordingly.
