Marking enemies in Death Stranding 2 allows you to keep track of their movements, giving you the advantage when you attack.
As you go about completing deliveries and exploring the world of Death Stranding 2, you’ll stumble upon several enemy camps. These camps will be heavily guarded. Clearing them out will allow you to proceed safely, while also making subsequent travels through the same path easier.
The enemy camps all have complex layouts, and the guards all patrol them freely. It is easy to lose sight of enemies inside a camp, which can then come back to bite you when you’re sneaking about. To stay one step ahead of the enemy and be wary of every single move they make, you need to mark them.
Death Stranding 2 gives you multiple ways to mark the enemies you face. Marking enemies puts a tag market atop their head, letting you spot them easily. This helps you keep track of them and plan your strategies accordingly. If you’re raiding a camp, it is highly advised to mark as many enemies as possible before attacking. As stated earlier, Death Stranding 2 gives you multiple ways to mark your enemies. The easiest way to do so is by simply entering compass mode. This puts you in a binocular-like POV, where you can see the field before you. All you have to do then is place the enemies in your crosshairs, and the game will then automatically mark them for tracking. We recommend finding a vantage point for this. Staying atop a cliff, or any other vantage point, will give you a better view of the camp, letting you mark all enemies in one go.
Another way of marking enemies is to use the Scanner. This is an unintended way of marking enemies, but it works well nonetheless. You can use your Scanner to detect movement, which comes in clutch when you’re trying to keep track of enemy patrols.
If finding a vantage point and individually scouting each enemy seems too much of a hassle, then the Watchtowers are for you. You can use the Watchtowers to sweep a large scan over the entire camp, which will then mark all enemies in the area.
