Initially, Diablo 4 featured a simple difficulty system known as World Tiers, which includes four difficulty levels: Adventurer, Veteran, Nightmare, and Torment. However, with the launch of Season 6, difficulty settings were revamped. It introduced several new difficulty levels while retaining the core mechanics. The revamped system continues to offer greater rewards at higher difficulties.
Switching to higher difficulties allows players to earn more gold and valuable rewards, with the risk of stronger enemies and certain debuffs. Whether you want to increase the challenge for better rewards or lower the difficulty for a smoother experience, here’s how to change the difficulty in Diablo 4.

How To Change the Difficulty in Diablo 4
You can change the difficulty in Diablo 4 via the statue of Inarius (Difficulty Tier Statue). You can find the statue in Kyovashad, northeast of the town Waypoint. The town of Kyovashad will be available after hours of play for those in the Eternal Realm.
To change the difficulty, interact with the statue of Inarius. It displays all eight difficulty levels. You can go through the details and choose the one you prefer. Moreover, the statue allows you to freely switch between the unlocked difficulty levels at any time for a flexible gameplay experience. However, note that the active Party Finder Listings, Town Portals, and Nightmare Dungeons will be disabled if you have changed a difficulty.
