Wuchang Fallen Feathers is the latest soulslike on the block, and like most other games in this genre, it pits you against a host of bosses besides the standard enemies. Some of these bosses are hideous monsters, while others are humans. While you might think that the monster bosses would be more challenging, the opposite is true. Some of the human bosses are extremely tricky to beat if you aren’t prepared to face off against them.

For instance, the South General – Liu Wenxiu, is one of the human bosses, where you’ll have to engage in an intense battle. The following guide explores everything you need to know about the fight with Liu Wenxiu in Wuchang Fallen Feathers.

How To Reach Liu Wenxiu in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

You will find this particular boss at the Mount Zhenwu region. Simply face the Zhenwu Temple and proceed to the right of this structure. If you’re looking for the closest shrine to this location, it’d be the Zhenwu Antechamber. You will need to open the doors behind this shrine for ease of access to the boss’s location. If you haven’t opened those doors yet, we suggest exploring the temple further.

From this shrine location, simply head past the statue and take a right after crossing the gate. You’ll soon reach a set of stairs that you need to climb all the way to the top until you reach a door with lion statues on either side. Interact with this door to gain access to a courtyard inside and trigger the Liu Wenxiu boss fight.

All Liu Wenxiu Attacks

The following are the boss’s moves during this fight:

He will begin the battle by instilling lightning into his sword. Then, he’ll cast lightning bolts from the sword, which’ll split into three bolts. He can repeat this exact casting thrice in a row.

When at close range, Liu Wenxiu will unleash three-hit combos with his sword. Keep in mind that these are lightning-based melee attacks. In some instances, the boss will move around you to strike.

Watch out for his thrust attacks, which allow him to quickly gain ground and close in on you. After these thrust combos, he might even detonate an electric charge, dealing even more damage to you.

If you’re at a distance, he can also pull out a rifle and shoot you up to three times in a row.

From time to time, the boss will transform into a storm cloud and come swooping down on the ground, releasing lightning bolts in the process.

Lastly, he has an annoying dodge attack. You can easily spot when he’s winding up to unleash this attack. However, timing your dodges or parries is essential here. Mistiming them can cause you to get stunned for a significant period, opening you up to even more damage.

How To Beat Liu Wenxiu in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

The most important aspect of this fight is learning to time your parries perfectly. Successfully counterattacking Liu Wenxiu will cause the boss to get knocked down. You can then take the opportunity to chip away at his health safely. You can parry all of his physical attacks, including attacks with the sword or his gunshots.

However, you won’t be able to parry the lightning bolt attacks. So, make sure you dodge out of the way of these. While it’s possible to Backstab the boss, he’s constantly on the move, which makes it extremely difficult to get behind him. We suggest maintaining distance from the boss. Force him to be on the offensive and charge at you with his sword attacks. This will allow you a slightly longer window in which you can prepare to parry his moves.

You can also utilize the Ethereal Form spell here. It automatically lets you dodge all attacks within a three-second window. The spell also allows you to stack Skyborn Might, which means you can remain untouchable as long as you reactivate the spell as soon as the initial three seconds wear off.
