Everything you need to know about stamina management in Wuchang Fallen Feathers, and ways to reduce its consumption during combat.

In any traditional souls-like RPG, the biggest challenge in combat comes in the form of stamina management. Endurance plays a key role in deciding the number of attacks and dodges you can perform in quick succession. As such, stamina is essentially the primary factor that dictates your combat efficiency in these games. This holds true for Wuchang Fallen Feathers as well.
In fact, stamina plays a very important role in Wuchang’s combat, as it dictates not only the regular melee combos but also spells and certain Skyborn Might abilities. However, due to how the game handles character progression, it can be quite difficult to learn the ropes of stamina management in Wuchang, especially in the opening few hours.
To help with that, here’s everything you need to know about stamina management in Wuchang Fallen Feathers.
How To Conserve Stamina During Combat in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

In the current version of Wuchang Fallen Feathers, stamina regeneration is easily the biggest issue players will face during combat. The slow regeneration rate is essentially the reason why players tend to stick to smaller weapons, overlooking the likes of axes and longswords.
Unlike in Elden Ring Nightreign, using weapon abilities (skills that use Skyborn Might) does require stamina. After a certain point in the main story progression, you will need to rely heavily on weapon skills to deal damage. During these instances, not having ample stamina will not only limit your moveset but also hinder your combat efficiency. This is especially true for longswords and axes, where even blocking or parrying consumes stamina.
The game does have an alternate parry mechanic, i.e., clashes. However, to perform a clash, you need to use charged heavy attacks, which consume significantly more stamina. That said, if you can get the attack timings down for a boss fight, clashing is quite easy. Furthermore, performing a successful clash doesn’t consume stamina. Additionally, performing a critical hit also restores stamina. Backstabbing enemies is a great way to restore lost stamina while also dealing a ton of damage.
As for the most efficient way to conserve stamina during combat, it would be to use spells in tandem with melee strikes. Ideally, you want to combo regular attacks with spells. In doing so, you will get enough time to regenerate lost stamina and also deal damage to the enemy during the downtime.
Do Spells Consume Stamina in Wuchang Fallen Feathers?
No, casting spells does not consume stamina. Instead, in order to cast a spell, you need to use Skyborn Might. In Wuchang, Skyborn Might is essentially FP/Mana. However, unlike other souls-like RPGs where FP is limited, Skyborn Might is technically infinite. Instead of refilling using a consumable, Skyborn Might is regained upon performing melee combos or perfect dodges. Additionally, equipping the One-Handed Sword passively regenerates Skyborn Might.
