What Are the Gear Tiers Introduced in Destiny 2 Edge of Fate?
The Edge of Fate expansion introduced new tiers for gear in Destiny 2. These upgrades involve using seasonal power to raise your armor and weapons. At the start of the expansion, they will be at Tier 1 and can be raised up to Tier 5 as you progress.

How To Raise Your Gear Tier in Destiny 2
To improve your gear tier, you will have to raise your seasonal power and participate in the Edge of Fate campaign. The more you achieve, the more likely you are to raise your armor and weapon levels. If necessary, replay the campaign on higher difficulties, even if completing it once was enough to reach Tier 5 on your gear of choice. You might even get lucky and receive a higher-tier drop than the one you are currently at.
