Hades 2 is one of the best-optimized roguelike games so far. The game runs smoothly on handhelds and a wide range of hardware. Gamers using any modern GPU with DirectX 11 and beyond will have a fantastic time playing the game. If you have a modern PC with an RTX series GPU, you can seamlessly max out the game. Resolutions such as 1080p, 1440p, or even 4K won’t be a problem at all.

What’s new in Hades 2 is that, within combat, there’s a new Magick Bar with which you can unleash powerful Omega moves, and the character Melinos has a lot of unique crowd control mechanics. These improvements demand responsiveness and greater control, so that you do not mess up combos. Unlike many recent titles, Hades 2 doesn’t rely on AI-based upscaling, like DLSS or XeSS. The engine itself is so well-tuned that at native resolution, the game looks crystal clear and runs effortlessly.  You really don’t have to worry about an upscaling algorithm, such as DLSS or FSR, or even XeSS, making the image appear soft and blurry.

The settings below will be ample for any modern GPU, such as the GTX 1050 Ti and above. If you are running legacy systems with Intel HD graphics from the Haswell era, then use low graphics quality.

On modern hardware, we suggest limiting the frame rate via Vsync or using RTSS to save on your electricity bill. The frame rate can reach very high levels, and unless you have a refresh rate that matches or exceeds it, there won’t be any potential benefit. On any modern display, a minimum refresh rate of 144Hz is standard, and reaching that figure is no issue at all. This is due to the incredible optimization work the developers have done. If you are using a controller, we recommend using our gameplay settings as a starting point and adjusting them as needed.
