Where To Find the Infernal Beast in Hades 2?

As you make your way through the Underworld, you can find the Infernal Beast at the end of the Fields of Mourning. Unlike other enemies, Melinoe is aware of who the Infernal Beast is and fights to save them.

After Chronos took over the Underworld, the titan corrupted the hellhound and made him do his bidding. This is a boss that does not know what he is, ever since Chronos took over. This fight is more about setting an old friend free than taking down an ordinary boss.

These are all the moves you should look out for while fighting this boss:

  • Ground Slam: The Infernal Beast will slam both its paws to the ground, which will cause the earth to shake.
  • Fire Breath: As the hound of hell, expect some fire-based attacks. This boss will start breathing fire once you reach the halfway point of its health bar.
  • Flame Slash: The Infernal Beast will swipe its claws, and it will cause a wave of fire. Counter it by moving away from the general direction of each wave.
  • Breath of Fire: This move is much easier to counter, especially if you stay ahead of each fire breath. Cerberus will be slow, and you can easily get around the arena.

The key to defeating the Infernal Beast is to keep moving and deal damage wherever and whenever you can. Cerberus is large, which puts it at a disadvantage against Melinoe’s speed. As a three-headed dog, most of their attacks come from the front. You can deal the most damage in blind spots, such as the rear. Whenever they use one of their attacks, rush towards the back and start attacking.

After dealing enough damage, the arena will be filled with red circles. This marks the next phase, and you should focus on evading rather than finding the right time to strike. The Infernal Beast will reuse all of its previous moves until you chip away its health bar and come out victorious.

The secret here is to apply as much damage as you can. The scorch effect from the Smolder Ring can damage the Infernal Beast over time, and it can synergize with Apollo’s Solar Ring. The more damage you deal, the faster this boss will drop. After winning the fight, you will receive a Tear for your efforts.
