King Vermin is a boss found in Oceanus that you can encounter in Hades 2. Here’s how you can defeat it easily.

King Vermin returns to Hades 2 to fight against Melinoe in Oceanus. This mini-boss is aptly named “Uh-Oh,” as it’s a beast that even the Gods are wary of. From fast dash attacks to mobs that hurl bombs at you, the boss fight is best dealt with quickly. However, encountering King Vermin is rare and can even be counted as a boss fight due to the boss HP bar. Here’s how you can defeat King Vermin in Hades 2.
Location of King Vermin in Hades 2

You will encounter King Vermin in the Oceanus location in Hades 2. This location is the second area after exiting the Crossroads. You’ll have to defeat Hecate, your tutor, and clear the entire region of Erebus to reach Oceanus. The area boss for Oceanus is Scylla and the Sirens, and besides King Vermin, you can also encounter the Hellifish and the Deep Serpent.
King Vermin Boss Overview

King Vermin has quick dash attacks as well as AOE slams that depend on Melinoe’s position in the boss arena. On top of that, it also summons mobs that hurl bombs at her after you reduce its HP by 30%. Here are all the moves of King Vermin:
- Charging Rush: King Vermin glows and prepares a charged attack towards Melinoe. Melinoe can easily dodge it with her dashes.
- Screaming Attack: The King Vermin shouts and charges at close range towards Melinoe. The attack deals double the damage of the regular charged attack.
- Minions: The boss summons Wretched Pests that throw bombs. The boss can also be damaged by the bombs, but all the summoned minions are shielded.
- Jump Slam: King Vermin slams the ground and deals moderate damage in an area. If Melinoe sticks too close to the boss, it usually uses this attack.
King Vermin Boss Tips and Tricks in Hades 2

King Vermin, similar to its fight from Hades 1, is very quick and will continue darting around the arena using its dash attacks. By the time it’s close, it will also deal area damage to Melinoe. So, the best way to handle it is to use your Cast immediately and attack as fast as you can.
When King Vermin summons its minions, you can bait it toward the bombs to deal a lot of damage. Generally, you should save your dashes for dodging the AOE attacks, as it has downtime after its dash attacks, giving Melinoe time to land her hits.
