Eris is the second boss you face on your race to Mount Olympus on the Surface in Hades 2, and this guide will help you beat her.
If you are attempting to complete a run on the Surface, then Eris is one of the bosses you will have to face in Hades 2. This daughter of Nyx is one of the four mandatory boss fights you must complete to finish a run on the surface in the god-like rogue-like.
This boss guide will tell you everything you need to know to defeat Eris, including the best strategies and boons you should use.
Where To Find Eris in Hades 2
You must first defeat Polyphemus and move on to the next area. After getting to the final chamber of the Rift of Thessaly, you will meet Eris. For a time during the Early Access, Eris would be the final boss you could face on the surface.
However, this has now changed, and you can now defeat her to proceed further, to defeat Prometheus and eventually, Typhon.
Eris’ Moveset In Hades 2
Eris uses the Adamant Rail from the original Hades as her signature weapon. Moreover, whenever she falls to 75%, 50%, 25% and roughly 5% health, she buffs her damage by 100%. Here are the moves you should watch out for:
- Rocket Rain: Eris shoots out rockets into the air, which fall on the marked red circles. She can fire off a maximum of five rockets this way.
- Rain Fire: She fires multiple projectiles at once, which cover a large area. She turns while using this attack multiple times in a row.
- Rocket Barrage: Eris flies into the air and drops rockets at the glowing red spots.
- Hit and Run: The boss dashes forward, while firing off projectiles to the left and right sides.
- Sniper Shot: Eris tracks Melinoe and fires off a projectile at her location. Dash at the last second to escape it.
How To Defeat Eris in Hades 2
The best strategy to beat her is to stay out of her sight. Use the various environmental items as cover from her attacks (but don’t rely on them too much). Moreover, you can keep circling her while attacking as she uses attacks like Rain Fire.
Eris is one of the bosses you should aim to defeat as soon as possible. This is because of her increasing difficulty as her health worsens.
Best Boons To Defeat Eris
These are the best Boons that can make it easier to defeat Eris:

| Athena | Defensive Posture | After you take damage, become Impervious for two seconds. |
| Duo: Aphrodite and Poseidon | Island Getaway | You take less damage from nearby foes. Boons of Aphrodite treat all foes as nearby. |
| Hestia | Heat Rush | Your Sprint leaves a cinder trail, and any damage you take from burning is reduced to 1. |
Applying Weakness from Aphrodite might be the difference between life and death with Eris. Apart from that, Athena boons are great as they let you deflect her attacks or let you become impervious briefly.
Tips and Tricks To Defeat Eris in Hades 2
Here are some tips to make the fight easier:
- You can use the environment as cover against Eris and try to bait her into coming closer to you.
- Hestia’s Heat Rush lets you reduce a lot of damage from a major part of Eris’ toolkit.
- If you are depleting Eris’ health to her final phase, consider saving your Hex until she activates her final damage buff. You want to end the fight quickly before she can deal a lot of damage.
