Everything you need to know about Resident Evil Requiem’s pre-load details, including the schedule, potential file size, and more.

Resident Evil Requiem, the next mainline title in the Resident Evil series, is finally available for pre-order on all platforms. The game was announced as a surprise during this year’s Summer Game Fest. And while Capcom did reveal the planned release date for Requiem, the pre-orders did not go live until today, i.e., October 30, 2025. And as is the case with most games, the pre-orders came alongside a host of additional details.
For starters, thanks to the game’s PlayStation listing, we now know the official pre-load schedule for RE Requiem. Here’s everything you need to know about Resident Evil Requiem’s pre-load schedule, potential file size, and more.

When Can You Pre-Load Resident Evil Requiem?

According to the game’s pre-order page on PlayStation, Resident Evil Requiem will be available to pre-load from February 25, 2026. The game is scheduled to be released on February 27, 2026. As such, players will get a roughly 48-hour head start to pre-download the game. On Xbox Series X|S, the pre-load schedule has not been revealed yet. However, Xbox usually follows a similar pre-load schedule to PlayStation.
The same goes for Nintendo Switch 2, which is getting RE Requiem at the same time as other platforms. As for PC (Steam), the pre-loads for most Capcom games go live roughly 24 hours prior to the official release date. Monster Hunter Wilds, released earlier this year, followed the aforementioned schedule for its pre-load. As such, it’s safe to assume RE Requiem will do the same.
Furthermore, Resident Evil Requiem is also available via the Epic Games Store. Usually, EGS doesn’t allow pre-downloads. However, certain games do allow pre-loads on EGS if enabled by the developer. Do keep an eye on Epic Games and Capcom’s socials to stay up to date on pre-download schedules for RE Requiem.
What Is the Download Size (File Size) of Resident Evil Requiem?

As of the writing of this article, Capcom has revealed the official PC specifications of the game, sans the file size. However, given it’s a RE Engine game, we can somewhat predict the potential file size, based on past games in the series. The most recent title in the Resident Evil series that was built using the RE Engine was Resident Evil 4 Remake. And that game (with the Separate Ways DLC) takes roughly 75 GB of storage.
As such, it’s very much possible that RE Requiem will take somewhere between 60-80 GB of space. That said, we will be updating this article once Capcom officially reveals the game’s file size.
