Glalie is an Ice-type first introduced in Generation III. While its split evolution Froslass got a new Mega Evolution in Legends Z-A, Glalie received one all the way back in Generation VI. So let’s see how to get the most out of it in the Legends Z-A meta.

These are the moves you want to use on your Glalie if you plan on using it in battle.

  • Spikes
  • Icicle Crash
  • Ice Shard
  • Earthquake

Glalie as a whole is not a very powerful Pokemon, even after Mega Evolution. Especially since its Ability Refrigerate is not in the game. However, Ice remains a powerful offensive typing, and Mega Glalie can take advantage of the small dex to be one of the best STAB users of it.

Icicle Crash and Ice Shard are the preferred Ice STABs for Mega Glalie to use. Both of them are level-up moves learned at levels 10 and 40. Earthquake provides useful coverage against Rock, Steel, and Fire-types that trouble Glalie. Teach it the move with TM069, which Mable rewards you with upon completing level 34 of her research. Finally, Spikes is a useful hazard that forces your opponents to be more cautious while battling. You get TM088 for the move after completing the side mission “Watch Out For Traps.”

Get the Glalitite from Quasartico Inc. for 240 Mega Shards.

Best Glalie Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Glalie would benefit from a bit more movement speed, so consider a Jolly (+Spe, -SpA) nature. You can get a Jolly Mint from a vendor in Vert Sector 6.
