Diancie just got added to Pokemon Legends Z-A, and you can get this Pokemon by finishing the new Side Mission EX 1: Shine Bright Like a Gemstone. Diancie has high stats, both offensive and defensive, making it great for any battle.

However, using the best moveset and nature will bring out Diancie’s full potential in Pokemon Legends Z-A. This guide will show two different builds: one for ranked PvP and one for PvE.

Disclaimer: Diancie cannot be used in Season 2 of Ranked Battles. However, it might be allowed in the future. This build will be applicable whenever Diancie is allowed to be used for PvP battles.

The newly added Diancie will likely be a great Pokemon to use in ranked (once you are allowed to do so). You will be able to counter lots of hard-hitting Fire types like Delphox and Charizard.

Best Moveset For PvP Diancie in Pokemon Legends Z-A

This is the best moveset for a PvP Diancie build:

• Diamond Storm
• Play Rough
• Stealth Rock
• Rock Slide/Stone Edge

Stealth Rock is one of the best setup moves you can use in this game. It spreads pointed rocks in an area and deals damage over time. You can leave it down when other players are battling to whittle down their health.

Diamond Storm is Diancie’s signature move, and also one of the best Rock-type moves in the game. It has high base power and also has a chance to raise Diancie’s already high Defense. This should ideally be your starting move to increase your chances of staying alive.

Play Rough is a great Physical Fairy-type move to use, which combines well with Diancie’s high Attack stat. It will also gain STAB (Same Type Attack Boost) from Diancie’s typing.

You can form a monstrous team when combining Diancie with a team of:

• Diancie
• Venusaur
• Hippowdon

Hippowdon is a great Ground-type to use which does not need to rely on Mega Evolution. It will cover for Diancie’s Steel-type weakness. Apart from this, Venusaur can help cover any Water or Grass-type Pokemon with its moveset. Combined, these three Pokemon can safely cover for each other and perform well in ranked matchups.

Best PvE Diancie Build in Pokemon Legends Z-A 

In the story, you do not need to use multiple moves of the same type. Instead, having moves of different types will be beneficial and help you hit different types of Pokemon. This build will help you gain the upper hand when using Diancie in single-player matches.

Best Moveset For PvE Diancie in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Here is the best moveset for PvP Ranked Battles while using Diancie in Pokemon Legends Z-A:

• Diamond Storm
• Play Rough
• Psychic/ Dazzling Gleam
• Earth Power

The first two moves are the same as before. The reasoning for the same will also remain the same as explained in the PvP build. However, you will need two new moves to have a smooth single-player experience.

The first of these moves will be Earth Power, which will let you ambush Steel-type Pokemon and knock them out in one hit. The last move can be anything you want it to be. However, for this build, using Psychic or Dazzling Gleam is not a bad play.

Fairy-type moves will be great against the slew of strong Dragon-type Pokemon you will surely face.

Best Nature For PvE Diancie in Pokemon Legends Z-A

For this build, you are utilizing Diancie’s Attack and Special Attack stats. Therefore, any Attack or Special Attack reducing Natures should be discarded. Instead, your best bet here is most likely a neutral Nature like Serious.

You do not want to suffer a drop in any of your stats. Alternatively, you can consider using any nature that drops your Speed in favor of your Attack or Special Attack, like Brave or Quiet.

Best Team Composition With Diancie For Pokemon Legends Z-A PvE

These are Pokemon that will pair well with Diancie for PvE battles:

• Diancie
• Gallade/Lucario
• Garchomp
• Venusaur/Victreebel
• Chandelure
• Gyarados

Diancie is weak to four types in total. Each of these Pokemon will be able to help you counter a certain type.

• Steel: Countered by Chandelure or whomever you choose between Gallade or Lucario. Chandelure can easily use Fire attack to destroy any Steel-type in your path, while Gallade or Lucario are both Fighting-type Pokemon.
• Water: Countered by Venusaur, which is bulky and has a wide array of Grass-type moves.
• Grass: Countered by both Venusaur and Chandelure. Venusaur can employ Poison-type attacks with STAB, while Chandelure can burn them to a crisp. Even Gyarados can utilize some Flying-type moves to set them to rest.
• Ground: One of the easier types to counter with this team due to the diversity in the Pokemon types. Both Venusaur and Gyarados will be able to handle Ground-type Pokemon.
