How to Get Sword of Life Stealing in BG3? Explained

To get the Sword of Life Stealing in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must visit Dammon in the stables of the Last Light Inn during Act 2. Depending on how you have played the game, you may remember meeting Dammon at the Druid’s Grove in Act 1. He is one of the many Tieflings who were seeking refuge there away from the threatening goblins.
Dammon will only be available as a trader in Act 2 if you defeated the goblin leaders in Act 1 to protect the Grove. If you let the goblin leaders live, or if for any reason you provoked a fight with the Druids in the Grove then the Tieflings will die and Dammon with them.
If Dammon is alive you will find him at the Last Light Inn. It’s located in the northern portion of the Shadow Cursed Lands. He’ll have set up a forge in the stables and you can buy the Sword of Life Stealing for 912 gold.
How to Use the Sword of Life Stealing in BG3?
The Sword of Life Stealing could be potentially very impactful in BG3 for a Ranger or Rogue attacking from Stealth, or for a Champion Fighter. At level 3 the Champion Fighter subclass unlocks the Improved Critical Hit feature. It reduces the number you need to roll a Critical Hit while attacking is reduced by 1. Additionally, the effect can stack.
While not as powerful as some of the end-game weapons found in Act 3 of BG3, the Sword of Life Stealing is a really nice mid-game sword that will serve you well until you can pick up something better in the city of Baldur’s Gate.
Tips and Tricks for Sword of Life Stealing in BG3
These are the best tips and tricks for finding and using Sword of Life Stealing in Baldur’s Gate 3:
- A Critical Hit must come from a strike by the sword for the Life Stealing Critical passive to trigger. It will not work on a critical from other equipped weapons.
- If you sided with the Goblins or angered the Druids into attacking the Tiefling refugees, then Dammon will not be available at the Last Light Inn, or in Act 3.
- Consuming the Elixir of Viciousness is another way to help lower the number you need to roll for a Critical Hit.
