The Orbwise Path is a dungeon that players will find as part of the “Save the Mourning Snakes” quest in Metaphor ReFantazio.
Metaphor ReFantazio’s vast and intricate dungeons often come across as impenetrable labyrinths if you don’t know what you are doing. Multiple hallways, secret passageways, diverging paths, strong enemies, etc. make it a challenge to navigate these areas.
The Orbwise Path is one such area in the game that may have you feeling lost. The Path is an optional dungeon unlocked by accepting the “Save the Mourning Snakes” quest on Virga Island. “A cave dug out of an uninhabited island for the islanders to honor their deceased,” the Orbwise Path description reads.
In this guide, we shall go over the Orbwise Path, how to access this area, how to navigate it, and ultimately, how to complete it.
Orbwise Path Walkthrough
Enter the Dungeon
Enter through the big double gate after arriving at the location. From the entrance, head straight till you encounter the Anxious Mustari Soldier. You will encounter the worm monsters along the way, but you can run past them should you choose to. Talk to the Anxious Mustari Soldier and he will give you 3x Heartwarmer as a remedy for Frostbite. Follow the path just past the soldier into a room with an item. Pick up the Magla Injection.
Head out of the room the same way you came in, and take the first right before the Mustari Soldier. Clear the mob in the room and pick up the Malnova Hardwood item on the left. Go out of the room and towards the soldier. There’s a room right behind the soldier, obscured by the pillars. Enter the room, deal with the enemies, and loot the treasure chest to obtain the Emperor White Mask.
Treasure Room
Walk in the direction opposite to the chest till you come across a small passageway. Crouch underneath and come out on the other side into a vast chamber. This chamber holds mobs of enemies and four treasure chests. Loot the chests to obtain the Hero’s Jewelled Root, a Sapphire, a Spangenhelm, and the Empress White Mask. Take the passageway next to the chests to exit the room.
Now, go northwest and clear the mob ahead. A blue item shines at the corner of the room. Pick up the Malnova Hardwood item. From this junction, there are two paths for you to take. Take the path leading up north and walk straight ahead past several mobs till you reach the Azure Dew item. Head back to the junction and take the path east till you reach the Saccharine Stalk.
Take the path east from the item and then the first left to find a treasure chest. Loot the chest to obtain a Miraculous Medicine. Keep heading straight along the path, and you will find a Gold Beetle. Go further ahead, and you will find the Uneasy Mustari. Take the path on his left till you reach a dead end. Pull the lever near the dead end and the game will autosave. Come back around the Mustari and take the staircase on his right and head down.
The Lower Level
Take the stairs below and follow the path ahead. You will find monsters along the way that you can fight or run past. There are two paths ahead, one that goes straight west and one that goes right towards the north. Take the path going north and reach the end to obtain the Magician White Mask.
Now, head back to the junction and go west. Follow along the path and take the first right and follow along. You will reach another junction from where you can go either north or south. Move northwards till you reach a dead end to obtain the Mossy Threads. Head south, and you will stumble across the Young Mustari. Take the path just past the Mustari and go through the small passageway forward till you reach a ladder. This ladder leads you back to the first floor and towards new treasure chests.
Loot the chests to obtain a Ruby and a Bloodthirsty Vesture. Follow the path ahead till you reach a lever that unlocks a shortcut. This completes your time in the Orbwise Path.
