Dragon Age: The Veilguard features several characters that accompany you on your journey across Thedas, with whom you form strong bonds over the course of the journey. For some characters, these bonds can often bloom into a romance. Romance has been a staple present in Bioware games for over a decade, and The Veilguard sticks to the formula. Lace Harding is a returning character in the game, first seen in Dragon Age Inquisition. Harding’s charming personality and rampant wit, as well as her being one of the few characters available for romance, make her a popular pick for those looking to go beyond.

This guide will go over Lace Harding and how you can romance the character in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Lace Harding Romance in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Romancing Lace Harding works much the same as it does for other characters in Dragon Age: The Veilguard — by maxing out approval and partaking in ‘heart’ conversations with the character.

Keep tabs on Harding at all times, and watch out for an updated bubble icon. This icon represents new dialogues. When you see these appear, immediately talk to Harding and select the ‘heart’ options to push the conversation towards romance.

Campaign and Companion Quests

Throughout the story, you will come across several opportunities to raise your approval with Harding, with the very first presenting itself during the very beginning, when you disrupt Solas’ ritual. Let Harding help you out, and you will end up on her good side. We recommend recruiting Harding into your party after this quest.

Next, complete Harding’s companion quests. The character has four companion quests for you to complete:

  • An Unfamiliar Sense
  • The Waiting Stone
  • The Bond Rekindled
  • The Heart of the Titan
  • The Eternal Hymn

You can unlock these quests by speaking to Harding at the Lighthouse after the ‘Shadows Crossing’ quest.

Commit to Harding

Following Harding’s ‘The Bond Rekindled’ quest, you will have the ‘Commitment’ option unlocked during a conversation at the Hall of Valor. In this conversation, Harding will open up to you about her fears and the voices in her head. Click on “Commitment – I won’t let it take you.”

Selecting this option will push your romance to the next stage and commit you to her. This will also, naturally, lock you out of romance options with other characters in the game.
