Technicians are introduced to all the Stalker 2 players during an initial side quest called the Stalker Wisdom. This takes place once you reach Zalissya, the first settlement in the game. Along with the rest of the merchant, Technicians also become available thereon.

These helpful NPCs are located around The Zone in almost all the major settlements like Zalissya, Garbage, etc. However, they are not present in every other settlement that you may encounter. They are marked with a wrench icon on the map.

The following list contains the locations of all the Technicians present in the game so far:

  • Chemical Plant (Sgt. Ivaylov)
  • Sultansk, Zaton (Picker)
  • Zalissya, Lesser Zone (Lens)
  • Rookie Village, Cordon (Multitool)
  • Rostok (Screw)
  • Yaniv Station in Yaniv (Harpy)
  • Cement Factory (Sgt. Khmaruk)
  • Slag Heap, Garbage (Diode)
  • Rostok (Powerplug)
  • Malachite (Semyonych)

All of these are located in an area that is heavily influenced by one of the different factions in Stalker 2, like Ward, Loners, Freedom, Ecologists, Duty, and Bandits.

Use of a Technician in Stalker 2

The survival world of Stalker 2 thrives on the durability system of weapons and armor. So, naturally, they are set to degrade as much as you use them. It can be mentally painful to search for a new weapon each time, and moreover, you may like one gun more than the other.

This is where a Technician comes into play. You can repair your equipment with the help of this NPC. If you wish to upgrade your weapon, that is also something that can be arranged here. Some weapons are pre-upgraded. This means that you can’t alter them further. However, repairing a weapon is a recurring task.

We suggest players repair a weapon before it reaches 50% of its durability. After that, you can experience issues like gun jams. These can be annoying to encounter during hectic open combat.

So, try to repair your weapon before it’s broken, and keep the Technician locations handy.
