8) Tserriednich Hui Guo Rou
Tserriednich is the fourth prince of the Kakin Empire and one of the main antagonists of the Dark Continent Arc. He has been a polarizing figure ever since his introduction, resulting from his sadistic tendencies. However, Tserriednich doesn’t consider himself to be evil but merely inquisitive and an appreciator of beauty.
While his power in the series originally only extended to human elements such as money, guards, and influence, he soon transcends this. Tserriednich is a genius, one who learned Nen at a frightening pace. His specialization allows him to look into the future. Paired with his intellect, this makes a frightening combination.
Additionally, he also has a horse-like Guardian Spirit Beast. Though this beast shares a parasitic relationship with him, it has helped Tserriednich by infecting those deceitful to him. Hence, while his accomplishments in Hunter x Hunter may not be many at this point, he has the potential to be one of the most terrifying additions to the story.
7) Ging Freecss
Gon’s father, Ging, is a heavily divisive figure due to how absent he’s been from his son’s life. However, one fact all fans agree on is that Ging is extremely strong. His intrigue has pushed him to gain extensive knowledge in several areas of study. Ging is also able to perfectly read others, a feature that irks Pariston.

As the former chairman of the Hunter Association, Netero was a man known for his relentless pursuit of greater strength. He was considered the most skilled Nen user in the world and still possessed extreme power in old age.
This was the reason why he was the only one capable of fighting Meruem in the Chimera Ant Arc. Netero had unparalleled speed and reflexes, rapidly adapting during battle. In his prime, he could punch 10,000 punches for 18 hours straight every day for years.
The ability Netero was most known for is the 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva. With this, he summoned a large Nen construct that could deliver destructive blows to its target. Though he ultimately lost his life, Netero had also set up countermeasures to ensure he took Meruem down with him.
1) Meruem
The strongest character that has ever been introduced in Hunter x Hunter to date is the King of the Ants—Meruem. He had reached the pinnacle of strength in the series and forced Netero to use underhanded tactics and set off a bomb to kill him. What is so frightening about Meruem is that he had become the strongest within just a few days of existence.
His power allowed him to keep growing stronger through consumption. He could also evolve to the next stage by absorbing Shaiapouf and Menthuthuyoupi. Hence, if not for Netero’s sacrifice, Meruem would have endlessly kept growing even stronger.
