How to Get +2 Saving Throws Permanently in Baldur’s Gate 3
To get a permanent +2 bonus to all saving throws in Baldur’s Gate 3, make a one-time gold offering to the Statue of the Gods in Stormshore Tabernacle in Baldur’s Gate Lower City. The amount of gold depends on your level, with level one being 400, and a max level of 12 requiring 5,000 gold! This offering will bless the individual with the Anointed in Splendour Condition until a long rest. Anointed in Splendour grants the user a +2 bonus to all Saving throws. This will be individualized to who offers the donation, so make sure you are using the right character!
The easiest way to do this is respec all of your characters to level one using Withers in your camp. Then, pay 400 gold each and receive the blessing. However, some characters who have disrespected the gods in any way through a quest will not be able to obtain this blessing. Moreover, you will need to select the god you wish to make an offering to, we selected the top, “make an offering to Bahamut, the dragon god of justice.” Just remember to return to this area and pray after each long rest to receive the buff. In addition, look to obtain the Blessed Buff permanently for 5,000 gold on your main character.

Saving Throws Explained
In Baldur’s Gate 3, saving throws, often shortened to “saves,” are automatic dice rolls representing your character’s ability to resist harmful effects. Think of them as reflexes, willpower, or physical resilience kicking in to avoid danger. They differ from ability checks, which are active attempts you make, and attack rolls, which are made against your defenses.
Here’s a breakdown of saving throws in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3):
- Strength (STR): Resist being pushed, grappled, knocked prone.
- Dexterity (DEX): Dodge attacks, evade traps, and react quickly.
- Constitution (CON): Holding concentration spells.
- Intelligence (INT): Resist illusions, mental manipulation, and some charms.
- Wisdom (WIS): Resist fear, psychic attacks, mind control, and some charms.
- Charisma (CHA): Resist social manipulations, banishment, and possession.
The most important Saving Throws for combat purposes are Constitution, Strength, and Dexterity. Consitution saving throws are required when concentrating or breaking the effect of a spell. An example is the Haste Spell, if the spellcaster is attacked, and loses concentration, the user becomes lethargic and skips a turn. This alone could be the difference between winning and losing a fight.
