You can buy extended digital and physical BG3 versions, and both Baldur’s Gate 3 Collector’s and Deluxe Editions are available for pre-order.
Larian Studios currently offers two extended versions of the game to pre-order. Baldur’s Gate 3 Collector’s Edition is a physical version that you can see in the picture above. It offers many items compared to, for example, Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition. Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition is cheaper but includes digital bonuses and the BG3 Base game.
There are no additional bonuses if you pre-order the game. You’ll receive the same items regardless of when you buy the Collecto’rs or Deluxe Editions. There is a small reward for players who purchased the game in early access, but more on that later.
What’s included if you buy Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition?
Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition contains only digital bonuses, costing around $80 or €75. Inspired by Divinity: Original Sin II, in-game items and skins also include unique features. For example, Fane’s Mask of the Shapeshifter will allow players to change their character appearance at any time.
Great news for all players who already own the game on Steam. On Twitter, Larian Studios confirmed: Every player that will buy Baldur’s Gate 3 early access on PC before the official release date receives the automatic, free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition on launch day.

You can buy and pre-order Baldur’s Gate 3 Collector’s Edition on the official Larian Studios website for PC and PlayStation 5. It costs €259.99 or $269.99, depending on your preferred currency. The Digital Deluxe Edition DLC content is also included with the Collector’s Edition.

As you can see, there are a lot of attractive collector’s items, so the high price seems reasonable compared to other games. I’m sure that it’ll satisfy many fans of the series.
Which Baldur’s Gate 3 Version Should You Buy?
It depends on if you can afford the more expensive game’s version and how big a fan of the series you are. Collector’s Edition includes many high-quality items and will look fantastic on any gamer’s shelf. In-game bonuses are also surprisingly good, most developers offer extra skins and art, but the BG3 Deluxe Edition approach is a nod to fans of the series Divinity Series. Any Dungeons and Dragons fan should consider buying the Collector’s Edition, and if you decide to buy only the Digital copy of Baldur’s Gate 3, you won’t be disappointed.
Is It Worth Waiting Until the Baldur’s Gate 3 Full Release?
The early access doesn’t spoil anything we already know. However, developers made sure you won’t feel disappointed. The game starts with your character being taken by mind flayers with a tadpole parasite in your brain and looking for the cure. At the beginning of the game, players get a good taste of what’s coming. Additionally, BG3 offers good replayability, with many decisions, outcomes, and classes (more coming in the final game’s version). So if you don’t mind, get a taste of a great story and then wait until the full release, set for August 31st, 2023, you should try it!
