While trading with merchants, you may notice a belt slot, but you have never seen one in-game, as they have been completely removed from the game.
The belt slot for your character is found in the character trade screen with merchants in Baldur’s Gate 3. But you will never find a belt in-game because belts are cut content in BG3. However, your belt slot was replaced by the underwear slot. Here’s how you can get Belt Mods in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Belt Slot in Baldur’s Gate 3
The belt slot in Baldur’s Gate 3, in contrast to its previous series, is not available in the third game. This decision might be due to customization options, as belts are a big aesthetic for your armor sets. This reason might be why Larian Studios, creator of Baldur’s Gate 3, might have cut belts from the game. However, belts are an iconic piece of clothing in Dungeons and Dragons. Belts like the Belt of Giant Strength are classic DnD items that many players recognize.
In the early access of Baldur’s Gate 3, there were belt slots, but no belts. Speculation occurred that, like cloaks, belts would be a thing in the final release. But the slot was replaced by something else. The underwear slot does not give any buffs to your defense. It is present, though, to have more customization options during Baldur’s Gate 3 intimate scenes that can be initiated while at camp. As of now, each race has their own female and male underwear. And you can always pickpocket them to obtain any underwear of your liking.
It could be that belts were supposed to be non-visual equipment, that is, to provide buffs without being displayed on the character, similar to rings and amulets. As of now, belts are wholly removed from the game. And the underwear slot, solely for cosmetic purposes, has been a newer change.
Are There Any Belt Mods for Baldur’s Gate 3?
Players can buff their abilities by using belts, but these belts do not have any cosmetic features. The Basket Full of Equipment is one of them, and inside is a collection of belts that you can equip in-game. The way the mod works is that, since there are no belts allowed in the game, the slot is provided by the head armor slot of your character. Since the Baldur’s Gate 3 final patch was announced, Larian Studios have sealed the deal on belts, for now.
