The following are all of the fixes and changes in the UI you can expect after installing the Patch 8 update for Baldur’s Gate 3:

  • Fixes a bug that caused the UI input button to not work in some cases.
  • Traders (non-hostile and alive) whom you’ve discovered are shown on the World Map regardless of how far they are from your current location.
  • Fixes an issue that caused Reaction tooltips to misrepresent their values in the description.
  • Fixes an issue where the ‘Resume’ option didn’t get selected automatically every time you paused the game by going to the Main Menu.
  • Fixes an issue where the UI became unresponsive when switching between keyboard/mouse and controller inputs.
  • The patch ensures that the condition tooltip of Corrosion Spit now mentions the damage it causes.
  • It also fixes a bug that made players first deselect their current passive before choosing a new one. Now, players can simply select the new passive for the older one to disappear.
  • The patch also updates the names for the condition tooltips of the Corrosive Spray spell. Now, the words ‘Dissolving’ and ‘Dissolved’ will provide increased clarity.
  • The developers have also addressed the Lifedrinker tooltip to match its functionality. Players do not need the Pact of the Blade for this change to take place.
  • The passive tooltip for Tides of Chaos now shows that it only works during ability checks.
  • The patch ensures that the passive tooltip for Acolyte of Nature now appears in the character sheet.
  • Fixed an issue with the Hexblade’s Curse tooltip. Previously, it showed the technical text ‘+ProficiencyBonus’ during Character Creation and in the Level Up screens.
  • One of the important UI changes in Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 is the controller UI fix when logged into a Larian Account. In the past, this problem often led to cross-play connectivity issues.
  • The patch also fixes an issue with the user report filing system. Previously, if you were trying to file a report and another player tried to join your session, the UI would close the report window too when cancelling the request.
  • The patch also fixes a problem in the multiplayer session manager panel. This issue prevented the panel from populating correctly for players who joined the session when the panel was already open.
  • The Body Type slider sometimes skipped a choice when you used a controller. The patch fixes this issue.
  • The Credits of the game now name developers who’ve worked on it post-release. The order of the Voice Actor names in the Credits has also changed. The developers have rearranged the Voice Actor credits based on how big their roles were.
  • The ‘No savegames available’ message will no longer appear while the list of saved games loads when you play with controllers.
  • ‘%%% Empty’ passive feature no longer appears during Rogue character creation.
  • The patch fixes a bug where an empty text panel would appear and block a portion of the screen.
  • Fixes an issue that caused combat tooltips to not appear even when they were toggled on with controllers.
  • The patch addresses an issue where swapping between character inventories sometimes placed the first character’s inventory items in the inventory of the second character.
  • The multiplayer lobby filters now work correctly.
  • The patch fixes an issue that caused some generic icons related to passive features to go missing in the Character Sheet.
  • The update also addresses the problem where the tooltips beside character portraits didn’t appear correctly while hovering over them.
  • Now you can drag one character portrait over another without running into visual issues with the white translucent VFX.
  • The update fixes an issue where hovering over any equipped item the first time would show a faulty tooltip. However, if you did so a second time, the tooltip would display the correct info. Now, the correct info appears for the first time.
  • With this patch, the annoying issue of the sliders auto-scrolling in the Gameplay options menu has been fixed. This usually happened when you flicked the controller’s left stick to the right or left.
  • The patch addresses the scrolling issue in the Replace Spell UI with controllers during the Level Up screen.
  • It prevents a slight screen freeze every time you switch between two characters while the Character Sheet is open.
  • The Footwear slot should now appear every time in the Character Sheet.
  • The patch prevents the Venture Forth text from shaking while you hold down the button on a controller during Character Creation.
