Learn how to unlock the Maggot ball in Ball X Pit, fuse it with other balls, and create devastating combos.
Maggot is an evolved ball in Ball X Pit that infests enemies it hits with maggots to deal damage over time. When the infested enemies die, baby balls burst out of them. While the Maggot ball works like an enhanced version of Poison, it isn’t particularly powerful on its own. To maximize its potential, you can fuse Maggot with a ball that deals high AoE damage to infest entire formations of enemies at once.

How To Get the Maggot Ball in Ball X Pit
- Maggot: Brood Mother x Cell
To obtain the Maggot ball, combine the Brood Mother and Cell balls. Brood Mother is a summon-type ball that spawns baby balls on hit, while Cell splits into four clones on hit. When both these balls are at level 3, pick up a Fusion drop to evolve them into the Maggot ball. Level up balls through Fission and other upgrade opportunities to prepare for the fusion.

Ball X Pit: Best Maggot Fusions
- Maggot x Holy Laser (Laser H + Laser V)
- Maggot x Nuclear Bomb (Bomb + Poison)
Maggot makes some of the best fusion combinations in Ball X Pit because its baby balls carry the properties of the ball it fuses with, creating a cascading effect of damage. The ideal fusions for Maggot are with balls that have a large AoE since any enemy damaged will be afflicted with the Maggot effect.
During fusions, the order in which you pick the fusing balls matters. The first ball picked will override any conflicting attributes from the second. For Maggot fusions, choose Maggot as the second ball.
Maggot x Holy Laser
Fusing Maggot with Holy Laser causes the ball to shoot lasers both vertically and horizontally, infesting all enemies it impacts with maggots. When an enemy dies to the Maggot effect, the baby balls bursting out of it also deal Holy Laser damage vertically and horizontally. This combination is exceptional at quickly clearing an entire screen of enemies. Evolve Holy Laser by combining a Laser (Vertical) ball with a Laser (Horizontal) ball.
Maggot x Nuclear Bomb
Maggot x Nuclear Bomb creates a powerful fusion that causes nuclear explosions all over the battlefield. When the ball detonates, the area of effect damage from the Nuclear Bomb also inflicts the Maggot status effect. Then, enemies that die from the Maggot effect launch baby balls that cause nuclear explosions of their own, creating a chain reaction of explosions. To evolve Nuclear Bomb, combine Bomb and Poison balls. Evolve Bomb by combining Burn and Iron balls.
