The First Berserker Khazan features a rather robust combat system, despite its limited range of weapon types. While the game is limited to just three variations in terms of weapons, each of them offers an expansive skill tree. Furthermore, the skills here aren’t passive percentage-based bonuses, but instead, active abilities, which can be enhanced via armor sets. Every weapon type has access to unique skills, which vastly impact the game’s combat system.

However, some of these skills are a bit overturned, making them feel a tad too overpowered. However, figuring out these overpowered skills isn’t easy, considering some of them are locked behind specific Skill Mastery Level thresholds. Here’s a look at all the best and most overpowered weapon skills in The First Berserker Khazan.

Do note that this list only includes skills that are available by default and aren’t tied to Set Bonuses.

How To Unlock Weapon Skills in The First Berserker Khazan

Weapon skills are available right after finishing the first main story quest. From that point, you get access to the first tier of the skills, with each new tier unlocking after specific main story missions. Skills are unlocked using Mastery Points (Skill XP), which you earn organically upon defeating enemies and bosses. Furthermore, Skill XP can also be obtained upon completing Bonus Missions. Do note that Mastery Points are capped at Level 72 in the base New Game. The cap lifts after you move to New Game+, where you get access to a fully unlocked skill tree. The cap essentially locks you out of getting any new Master Points.

However, you can still earn XP that counts towards Mastery once it’s unlocked, either after completing a main mission or heading into NG+. Most overpowered skills in The First Berserker Khazan are tied to specific armor sets. However, there are also a few in the normal branch that can be incredibly broken. For instance, the Spear’s Trance and Phantom Heatwave skills, as well as the Dual Wield’s

Spear’s Overpowered Skills

Here are the most overpowered skills for the Spear:

  • Trance: Trance is easily the most overpowered and broken skill in the current version of The First Berserker Khazan. It essentially allows you to chain a dash attack after another skill. However, with Trance upgraded to its maximum, you can chain this skill right after a Swift Attack. Furthermore, Trance not only saps the enemy’s stamina but also allows you to redirect yourself.
  • Phantom Heatwave: Phantom Heatwave is essentially an “easy parry” ability. Activating the skill uses two Spirit nodes and allows you to automatically deflect incoming attacks.
  • Spiral Thrust: The Spiral Thrust ability is a pure DPS skill. It essentially uses two Spirit nodes and lets you dish out a massive piercing attack that also knocks back the target.

Dual Wield’s Overpowered Skills

Here are the most overpowered skills for Dual Wield:

  • Phantom Sword Dance: The Phantom Sword Dance is easily the most overpowered skill within the Dual Wield’s repertoire. Phantom Sword Dance essentially allows you to summon Phantoms with each Potent Blow. Mixing this skill with Whirlwind essentially makes Dual Wield an unstoppable DPS weapon.
  • Ruthless: The Ruthless skill essentially allows you to stagger and stun lock an enemy while also dealing damage, all for the cost of 2 Spirit nodes. While it isn’t as powerful as Phantom Sword Dance, it does deal a ton of damage.
  • Gale Smash: The Gale Smash skill essentially applies a debuff to the enemies, lowering their defenses temporarily. However, on top of the debuff, the skill also deals a massive chunk of damage via a blood explosion, which also knocks enemies back.

Greatsword’s Overpowered Skills

Here are the most overpowered skills for Greatsword:

  • Phantom Night’s Veil: The Phantom Night’s Veil is quite similar to Gale Smash. However, it deals significantly more damage, at the cost of a longer wind-up animation. Furthermore, the skill also deals damage while charging, which can easily knock back smaller enemies.
  • Inner Fury: Inner Fury, coupled with Phantom Night’s Veil, allows you to dish out damage using the Greatsword without giving any opening to the enemy. This skill essentially works as a catalyst for Phantom Night’s Veil, increasing the Greatsword’s charging speed and overall damage.
