A new update has been announced for The First Berserker Khazan. This free update was first teased by the developers sometime after the launch of the game. However, no details were known about the update until now.
The Ultimate Challenge update brings two new game modes, where you can fight bosses under an added layer of difficulty. The best part is that it is completely free. Here is everything to know about this new game mode.

The First Berserker Khazan Ultimate Challenge Update Overview
This free update will arrive on May 15, 2025. That is less than a week away. You might want to polish your skills again because these new game modes will undoubtedly prove to be a challenge for most players.
Creative Director Junho Lee talks about the process behind this update in a Steam post. He wanted to make the new game mode “tough but rewarding.” That led to the creation of the following two game modes:
1. Great General’s Crucible
You have to fight groups of thematically organized bosses in this mode. Defeating one theme of bosses will unlock the next theme. Additionally, you will have to fight them with a predetermined loadout.
Completing all the themed boss fights will earn you a special reward. However, it is unknown at the moment what this reward will actually be.
2. Berserker’s Bloodshed
This game mode will be a series of consecutive fights. In the end, you will have to face a boss to complete this challenge. Completing this mode will earn you new, powerful items and weapons.
Lastly, the Change Appearance feature will be available in the first playthrough from now on as well. However, you will need to complete the Blacksmith Heirloom quest to access this mechanic.
