Here is a walkthrough on how you can open the West Gate and gain access to the outdoor area known as The Grounds in Blue Prince.
The West Gate in Blue Prince can only open after you have drafted specific rooms. This means you will have to do some more puzzle-solving before you can gain access to this area. You can find it on the west side of the manor if you head out from the entrance room and head right. The gate seems to lead to a thick forested area. Unlocking the gate will grant you access to an outdoor area called The Grounds. This area is permanently available throughout your playthrough.

How to Open West Gate in Blue Prince
Access the Garage Room Using the Utility Closet
To open the West Gate, you need to draft the Utility Closet first. Head inside the small room and open the breaker inside. Flip the switch beside the garage and gain access to it. Once that’s done, you can proceed to navigate toward the garage.
Open the Garage Door
Once you are inside the garage, turn left to find a button. Interact with this button to open the garage door. Once the door is open, you have access to the outdoor area. Once the path leading outdoors is available, pick up the three keys in the garage and head out of the room. Walk a few distances and turn onto the first left path you see, adjacent to a giant tree on the left. Follow the path and pass through a bridge made of planks. Don’t worry, the plank won’t break when you try to cross it.

Open the West Gate
Proceed to walk until you reach an intersection. Head to your left to access the other side of the West Gate. Interact with the gate to open it. Once the path is open, you now have permanent access to the outdoor area. From this point forward, this path stays open, allowing access to The Grounds right from the start of every future run.
However, one thing to keep in mind is that the wooden plank that served as a bridge previously will not be available in future runs. However, it can appear again if you access the outdoor area via the garage.
