Is Monster Hunter Wilds the kind of game that ceases to exist once you complete the main story? Many games that are particularly focused on single-player aspects tend to get boring or lifeless after finishing the main story if they are open world. And if they are linear adventures, all you can do is start the game over to enjoy it again. But what about Monster Hunter Wilds? Does it treat its player base the same way?

We think it’s safe to say that when you wrap up all your main quests in Monster Hunter Wilds, the game is far from over. Undoubtedly, there won’t be a “story” for you to follow because the plot has ended. However, the game doesn’t stop being fun. In fact, if you were not big on exploration while trying to see the main questline through to its end, MHW will have even more to offer you now.

What To Do After Completing Monster Hunter Wilds?

The thing with the Monster Hunter franchise is that it doesn’t waste too much time teaching you things. Capcom tries its best to keep the RPG immersive by not interfering a lot. Initially, there will be a tutorial to guide you slightly, but then you are on your own to explore things. Similarly, the activities you can do in the game are introduced pretty early on, but players don’t realize it until later. At times, they put them on hold and first get the primary questline out of the way. Either way, based on how much you have covered by the endgame, you will have plenty of things to explore.

Side Quests and Investigations

These are available pretty much from the first phase of the game. The side quests and investigations work as additional story content and hunting contracts for all the Hunters playing MHW. There is no significant timer on these quests to prevent you from attending them even after the main story. Since the beasts in the world will continue existing, a Hunter like you will always have a job to tend to! So, putting canon aside, feel free to complete leftover side quests and investigations. You can also revisit a lot of them and return to low-rank quests at times.

The entire point of being a part of the MH Universe is embracing your job as a Monster Hunter. If you hang up your gear and weapons immediately after completing the story of Monster Hunter Wilds, you are missing out on the true experience. Some long-running fans of the franchise would argue that this is when the game truly begins.

You can continue hunting fierce beasts and advancing in high rank. This will also help you gather resources that are otherwise harder to find, like Novacrystal. Taking these steps will allow you to craft more powerful gear to make your fights easier so you can completely dominate the monsters during each battle.
