Here are five cards from the upcoming Pokemon TCG Black Bolt/White Flare expansion that can see a lot of use in the current meta.

With the upcoming Pokemon TCG Black Bolt/White Flare releasing soon, competitive players have been poring over the Japanese sets for cards that they could add to their decks to improve them. These can range from new Pokemon Tools to new Supporters to, of course, new Pokemon cards. So, let’s look at five cards that players could be facing shortly in the Pokemon TCG meta.
Note: These cards are based on the Japanese sets and are subject to change. The cards mentioned here are based on the writer’s opinions.
Top 5 Cards From Pokemon TCG Black Bolt/White Flare That Could Be Meta-Dominant
These five cards in the Black Bolt/White Flare expansion are likely to shake up the meta:
- Brave Bangle
- Eelektrik
- Hilda
- Tirtouga
- Air Balloon
5) Brave Bangle

Brave Bangle is a Pokemon Tool card designed to help single-Prize attackers. If it is attached to a Pokemon without a Rule Box, i.e., not a Pokemon ex or Pokemon V, the moves used by this Pokemon do 30 more damage to opposing Pokemon ex. This damage is added before calculating Weakness or Resistance.
With the rise in single Prize attackers like Ethan’s Typhlosion or Team Rocket’s Porygon Z, this card may find its way into some decks very soon after release.
4) Eelektrik

Eelektrik can be an engine for decks that rely on Lightning Energy, like Joltik Box. This is thanks to its ability, Dynamotor, which attaches Lightning Energy from the discard pile to a Benched Pokemon. The added Lightning Energy can help Pokemon cards that get a boost after discarding them, like Ampharos ex, Bellibolt, and Vikavolt.
3) Hilda

The female protagonist of the Pokemon Black/White games is getting her own card for the first time. Additionally, it’s also very useful. This Supporter card will let players search for an Evolution Pokemon and an Energy, reveal them to the opponent, and add them to your hand. Getting access to an extra Energy or an Evolution at the right moment can be quite clutch. For instance, let’s take a look at the next entry on this list.
2) Tirtouga

Tirtouga is a Water-type Stage 1 Pokemon that evolves from an Antique Cover Fossil. What earned this card a spot on this list was its first move, Ancient Sea Creeper. This attack does 30 damage for each Item card in the opponent’s discard pile for only a single Basic Water Energy. As a result, this card has insane damage output if used near the mid- or late-game.
This card has excellent synergy with Hilda, as once the player has an Antique Cover Fossil on the Bench, the Supporter can draw out a Water Energy and Tirtouga. As such, it can be seen even in decks that aren’t primarily Water-types, though it will most likely feature there most often.
1) Air Balloon

Air Balloon is a Pokemon Tool coming in the upcoming expansion. However, it is a reprint, and as such, players are aware of how good this card can be. This Tool reduces the Retreat Cost of any Pokemon it is attached to by two. As a result, cards like Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex, Gardevoir ex, and Gholdengo ex are basically able to retreat at no cost if this Tool is attached.
