Clair Obscur Expedition 33: How To Defeat Bourgeon (Flying Waters)

Most of the time, you are going to fight unique monsters in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. While some are just normal mobs, others are big bosses who can be as solid as rocks or mountains. Additionally, some bosses impact the storyline, while others are just optional. Bourgeon is one of the optional bosses in the game that can give good rewards.

How To Defeat Bourgeon in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Every enemy has some kind of weakness, and for Bourgeon, it is lightning, but it has no specific weak spots. For this boss fight, we recommend using the following skills:

• Gustave: Overcharge, Marking Shot
• Lune: Thunderfall
• Maelle: Fleuret Fury, Percee

Here’s the list of all of Bourgeon’s attacks:

1. Bourgeon eats: During this attack, Bourgeon bends down and gobbles up a character for some rounds. During this period, you cannot use that character, but on the positive side, your gobbled character will remain unharmed.
2. A 3-hit combo: Bourgeon slams his right hand, landing a three-hit combo. Dodge or parry at the perfect time to save your character from heavy damage.
3. A 5-hit combo: During this attack, Bourgeon starts by slamming his left hand and then performs a closed-hand slam. After that, it switches to its right hand and delivers the same three-hit combo. All of these attacks can be dodged or parried, so all you have to do is remember the pacing of these hits.
4. A crushing combo: This time, Bourgeon starts with a regular right-hand three-hit combo, followed by two left-hand slams, and finally a head slam. The combo is almost the reverse of the five-hit combo, but there is a slight delay between attacks, so beware.
5. Maisma: Bourgeon can spit some kind of matter that acts as a projectile. The attack has four waves, and you can dodge or parry it with the correct timing. Note that this attack can inflict exhausted status on the hit character.

Once you remember its attack pattern and timing, bringing Bourgeon down will be easier. Use Gustave’s Overcharge and Marking Shot to deliver good lightning damage. On the other hand, Lune’s Thunderfall can do significant damage to enemies weak against lightning, making Bourgeon a perfect test subject. Finally, Maelle can be very offensive with her Percee and Fleuret Fury skills, so make sure to use them accordingly.
