Everything you need to know about Sandfall Interactive’s upcoming turn-based RPG, Clair Obscur Expedition 33, and its pre-order details.
Ever since its announcement, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has captivated RPG fans throughout the world. While the game is technically a turn-based RPG, it also features elements of action-adventure games akin to Atlus‘ iconic Persona and Shin Megami Tensei games. While the game has received quite a few trailers and gameplay showcases since its announcement, it only very recently received a confirmed release date. Surprisingly enough, the RPG is releasing much sooner than many might have anticipated.
The release date announcement comes courtesy of the recently held Xbox Developer Direct 2025, which also featured games like Doom: The Dark Ages and Ninja Gaiden 4.
As is the case with most Triple-A releases nowadays, the release date announcement is soon followed by the game’s pre-orders going live on all platforms. Here’s everything you need to know about Clair Obscur Expedition 33’s pre-order details.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Release Date and Platforms
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is scheduled to be released on April 24, 2025. Furthermore, as an Unreal Engine 5 game, Clair Obscur is coming exclusively to current-gen consoles, i.e., PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also coming to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. However, it should be noted that on the Epic Games Store, pre-orders for Clair Obscur Expedition 33 aren’t live yet. As of writing this article, you can pre-order the game on Steam, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox Store. The game is also available on Xbox Game Pass (for PC and consoles) upon its release date. Unfortunately, the game isn’t available on the Nintendo Switch.
Furthermore, publisher Kepler Interactive has not revealed any details on a potential Nintendo Switch version, either. However, given how most Triple-A and even Double-A games eventually make their way to Nintendo’s hybrid console, a Switch version of Clair Obscur might make its appearance in the future. Additionally, it’s also very likely that Kepler Interactive might be planning to release the game on Switch 2 instead of the original Nintendo Switch.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Editions and Prices
Clair Obscur Expedition 33, much like any other modern release, is offered in two different editions: Standard and Deluxe. The Standard Edition, which is priced at $50, comes with only the base game. Whereas the more expensive Deluxe Edition, priced at $60, comes with a few extra in-game items on top of the base game. Surprisingly enough, there is no pre-order bonus for the game.
Additionally, there’s also no “early access” or “advanced access” incentive for pre-ordering Clair Obscur. Regardless of which edition you purchase, you will be able to play the game on its scheduled release date. That said, here’s a rundown of Clair Obscur Expedition 33’s different editions:
Standard Edition ($49.99)
- Base game
Deluxe Edition ($59.99)
- Base game
- The “Flowers” collection
- “Clair” custom outfit (Maelle)
- “Obscur” custom outfit (Gustave)
