Death Stranding 2’s gameplay loop sees you traversing the lands of Mexico and Australia, all to complete porter deliveries. You’re assigned a sizeable amount of cargo for most of these deliveries, and your backpack helps you carry this cargo.

The backpack, however, is more than just a means to carry cargo in Death Stranding 2. It can be customized with various attachments that offer unique benefits — some unlock additional inventory slots, others let you carry more ammo, and many provide special perks that enhance your abilities in different ways.

While these perks and unlocks may be super useful, the game doesn’t really tell you how to unlock them. You could go hours without ever unlocking much, and if this description fits you, you’re really missing out on some powerful unlocks. If you’re looking to make the most out of your backpack and also make your treks through Mexico and Australia easier, you need the backpack attachments.
