Death Stranding 2: How To Construct and Use Timefall Shelter

The Timefall Shelter provides a safe zone, protecting you from the Timefall rain and BTs. Here is how it works in Death Stranding 2. 

Timefall is one of the lingering threats in the world of Death Stranding, and it returns in Death Stranding 2. This otherworldly rain accelerates the aging of anything it touches, remaining a persistent threat throughout your journey. Exposure to Timefall damages your cargo containers and vehicles, reducing their durability.

Although you can strategically avoid Timefall by planning your routes using the weather forecast, a Timefall Shelter provides a viable solution when you encounter the event. It grants immediate protection for Sam and his cargo from the rain. Apart from Timefall protection, the shelter also provides various key benefits, such as stamina regeneration, protection from BTs, and cargo container repair. How To Build a Timefall Shelter in Death Stranding 2

After completing the delivery to C1 South Distribution Centre by recovering the Chiral Density Gauges from bandits in Mexico during Episode 1, you will unlock the Timefall Shelter structure. Then, you can build a Timefall Shelter almost anywhere within the Chiral Network, though you need a Portable Chiral Constructor (PCC). Fabricate a PCC at any facility and equip it from your equipment wheel. Scroll through the available structures and select the Timefall Shelter. Press L2 to see the holographic placement, confirm the location, and press R2 to construct the Timefall Shelter. 

How To Use Timefall Shelter in Death Stranding 2

Once you have built a Timefall Shelter, all you need to do is simply walk inside to gain its benefits. As you enter a Timefall Shelter during a Timefall event, you will notice Sam’s hood unfolds, indicating you are safe from the Timefall. You can even rest inside the shelter until the rain subsides. 

The Timefall Shelter also comes with various secondary benefits. Once you are in the active area of the Timefall Shelter, all of your damaged cargo containers are repaired automatically. 

The shelter also refills your canteen, providing a more effective way to restore your stamina. Additionally, a Timefall Shelter also serves as a safe spot, emitting deterrents that repel nearby BTs.
