This article will go over all of the steps to unlock the Ghost of Yotei mask in Death Stranding 2 On the Beach.

Death Stranding 2 has been released for a few weeks now, and players have collected plenty of useful items in their travels. Some items can be used for combat, others to make delivering cargo much more convenient, while others are for pure aesthetic purposes. One of these items is Atsu’s mask in the upcoming PlayStation exclusive, The Ghost of Yotei.
In this guide, we will be walking through the process of acquiring Atsu’s mask in the game. It is a fun Easter egg that Kojima Productions included to hype up the next big first-party title.

Finding the Ghost of Yotei Mask in Death Stranding 2

As Sam traverses the snowy regions of the Australian continent, you can find a handful of lost cargo and optional preppers in between. In the case of the Adventurer and his son, Sam will not immediately connect their fallout shelter to the chiral network. The Adventurer’s Son will accept whatever cargo you have for them but will wait for his father’s permission to connect. Unfortunately, the Adventurer has a bad habit of exploring the post-apocalyptic world.
The Adventurer’s Son will issue you a new sub-order to find and collect his father, then return to the shelter. It is a tricky and difficult trek across a snowy mountain, and we recommend you use the Bokka Skeleton and a pair of Absolute Boots. We would also recommend you bring climbing gear and a floating carrier. Leave some of your materials in a private locker since you will be carrying the Adventurer on your back.
Bring the Adventurer back, and you can proceed to connect them to the chiral network. After a few minutes, check your Social Strand Service and bring any piece of cargo, whether it is a standard order or lost cargo. The Adventurer will then reward you with Atsu’s mask, as seen in the Ghost of Yotei.
Does Atsu’s Mask Have Gameplay Benefits?

Unlike most masks or helmets, this item does not have any gameplay benefits. It is purely cosmetic and a fun Easter egg for the upcoming game. Regardless, it is a cool item to have in Sam’s inventory. The only real benefit to this item is that it could block direct and reflected sunlight, which doesn’t pose much of an issue throughout the game.
