Stun Bombs are available in Death Stranding 2, but you have to unlock the throwable weapon. DS1 veterans are already familiar with this type of grenade (a dialogue quip that Sam will make once he unlocks the Stun Bomb in DS2). It can come in quite handy when you are taking on human enemies, especially if it suits your preferred loadout.

You unlock the Stun Bomb in DS2 by reaching Connection Level 2 with the Inventor. Getting to this prepper may be a bit tricky, and we advise you to check out our how to get to the Inventor in DS2 guide to have an easier time. The Inventor will also give you the Otter Hood.

How To Use Stun Bomb in DS2

To use the Stun Bomb in-game, hold L2 to aim and press R2 to throw the grenade. Holding R2 increases how far the throw goes. It emits an electric shock on impact that can knock human enemies unconscious and render vehicles temporarily unusable. It can also be used against mechs.

Best Ways To Use Stun Bomb in DS2

The best use cases for the Stun Bomb in-game are:

  • Stun Bomb effects are amplified if you throw it near water. This can come in handy as some human enemy bases are beside rivers and streams.
  • Stun Bombs will go well with a loadout of Tranq Sniper Rifle and Bola Gun/Tranq Handgun in Death Stranding 2. You will be able to engage at long range with the rifle and then switch to the other two guns mentioned. Stun Bombs can be deployed at close or medium range, especially to disable vehicles.
