Death Stranding 2 lets players heal using different techniques to suit their needs and circumstances. Here’s a short guide to help you.

Learning how to heal in Death Stranding 2 is a crucial feature that you cannot survive without. Sam, the protagonist, is always facing harsh conditions and confronting dangerous BTs. The best thing about most video games is that you don’t need to rest to get better. DS 2 is no different. Players can resort to healing techniques when injured to get Sam in a better condition. However, since you have no “potion” to consume, things can get complicated. Don’t worry, though, we are here to clear out the confusion.
Healing Techniques in Death Stranding 2

Blood Bags
This is the most popular and convenient method to restore your health when you are on-the-go, or in combat. You can simply pick up these Blood Bags that are sometimes available out in the wild near boss fight locations, or can be crafted. They can be crafted in safe rooms or distribution centers if you have 15 Chiral Crystals and 10 Resins. Keep them in your inventory and select by holding the left D-pad. It will automatically heal Sam.
Cryptobiotes
Cryptobiotes are small creatures that can be found atop small rocks. Look for colorful mushrooms that grow on them to spot them easily. You can also press R1 to scan your proximity and find any Cryptobiotes nearby. Press the triangle button after getting close to a Cryptobiote to capture it and save it for later use. You will replenish health by holding right on the D-pad and eating it.
Private Rooms
Lastly, if you are near a private room at a facility or distribution center, we suggest heading into the private room. Resting here will replenish Sam’s health and stamina. This will keep him fit to continue his missions and keep traversing across rivers to get to his objectives.
