Hideo Kojima is renowned not only for his unique and innovative approach to game design but also for his signature long cutscenes. The original Death Stranding featured a 31-minute-long cutscene, and its sequel continues the tradition of having long cutscenes.

Death Stranding 2 features one of the most intricate narratives in the gaming industry, and it is understandable that the cutscenes take longer than usual to fully immerse players in its world. Apart from the story cutscenes, Death Stranding 2 also features several repetitive cutscenes, such as Sam taking a shower or preparing his cargo.

Fortunately, Death Stranding 2 allows players to skip cutscenes, offering flexibility and control over their experience. This allows you to save your time significantly, whether you are eager to progress quickly or bypass the repetitive moments. Here is how you can skip cutscenes in Death Stranding 2.

You can skip cutscenes in Death Stranding 2 by simply pressing and holding down X on your controller during the scene. Holding the button fills up a circular meter around X on the screen and skips the cutscene once the meter is filled.

There is also another convenient method to do the same. Pressing the Options Button during a cutscene brings up the Pause menu. You can alternatively skip the scenes by choosing the Skip option from this menu. Additionally, the Pause menu also allows you to head to the Corpus menu, which contains in-depth information about the lore and terminologies.

The menu not only allows you to skip the cutscenes but also pauses the cutscenes for you. This can be highly helpful if you need to step away for a moment, allowing you to pause and continue the cutscene without missing any part of the narrative. Skipping a cutscene can save a lot of time and let you continue traversing the terrains and delivering cargoes without delay. This is particularly helpful during routine cutscenes like using a shower/toilet, loading the cargo, or entering/exiting the Private Room.

Since you cannot rewatch the story cutscenes, skipping the story cutscenes is not recommended, especially during your first playthrough.
