Did you know there is actually a way to make the process smoother and automated once you start building roads? Thankfully, Death Stranding 2 features an auto-driving option, removing the need for manual driving.

Before getting into the how-to activation part, it’s important to understand the conditions for activation. The Self-Driving Support enhancement only works on the road. To be precise, you need to drive the vehicle within the center of the road at a certain speed without triggering the boost. Here is how it works:

  • Drive your vehicle onto the road.
  • Position your vehicle at the centre of the road.
  • Accelerate the vehicle and maintain a consistent speed without boosting.
  • When doing so, a flow of chevrons will appear on the rear plate.

Once fully charged, you will see the text ‘ASST. DRV. BOOT’ on the rear plate, followed by ‘ASST. DRV.’ This indicates that assisted drive/auto-drive is activated. The ‘Auto-Camera’ option popping up on the screen also indicates that the self-driving is enabled. Once it is active, just release the accelerator and let the vehicle do the honors. Your vehicle uses the road’s power supply and takes you to your destination automatically, as long as the road is connected.
