In Death Stranding 2 Episode 1, you will be given the options between “I won’t do it” and “I’ll do it” to Fragile, asking you to set out to connect Mexico to the chiral network. Given that the task “it” refers to is a crucial part of the starting episode, players are understandably intrigued to discover which option leads to what and whether it impacts the story.

Death Stranding 2: Should You Choose I’ll Do It or I Won’t Do It?

The short answer is – it doesn’t matter what you choose. Either choice will lead to the same outcome (with some detours) and has no impact on the overall story. But we suggest choosing “I Won’t Do It” to experience what is in store.

The long answer is detailed below:

Choose I’ll Do It

Selecting this will have Sam agree to Fragile’s job offer. The story/cinematic will continue, and you will set out to connect Mexico to the chiral network.

The first time you select this option, the screen will go black and restart at the point of the cutscene where the record player began to play. It will then zoom into the pictures on the wall, where this time we have a picture exactly as the moment when Fragile asks Sam the question. The camera will zoom into the picture, and you will again be given the option.

If you choose I won’t do it for the second time, the screen will again go black, but this time the picture the frame starts to focus on is of Sam and Lou sitting atop a hill from the beginning of the game.

To sell the fake, the game also starts playing Minus Sixty-One by Woodkid. At the very last moment, the frame shifts to the picture of Sam and Fragile, and we are again back at that moment. This time, you have no option other than – I’ll accept the order.

As mentioned above, both choices lead to the same result in DS2.
