Playing Death Stranding 2 offline means doing most of the building yourself. For example, you construct bridges to cross rivers. You provide your own materials when building various stuff in the game using your PCC. With that said, you will be doing all the hard labor yourself. For some players, it’s a good source of fun and replay value. But for some players, it can be a bit daunting, having to save up materials to build every single structure in the game.

However, if you activate online, other players may help you build structures so they too and other players can use it. Alternatively, you can also help other players build their own structures. While you can’t really have direct interaction with the players, it’s a nice little way to ease the task of collecting resources for building.

You can even upgrade your structures and customize with with various interactive features like a voice message or a hologram. This helps the game feel more alive and interactive, even if you don’t really see your fellow porters.
