The Guitar Guy is not a new character in the Death Stranding franchise, but he seems like a reincarnation of sorts.

The Guitar Guy is a familiar face with a new coat of fresh paint and enhanced DOOMS, which is the ability to see or sense Beached Things, in Death Stranding 2. Guitar Guy, aka Higgs Monaghan, was a porter who later became the head of the Homo Demens, a militant organization in the first game. This article will go over everything there is to know about Higgs and his role in the sequel.

The Guitar Guy Is Back With a Vengeance in Death Stranding 2

Fans caught a glimpse of a new masked figure wielding a guitar and sporting Amelie’s hair. However, what stood out was the voice, and it was none other than Troy Baker. Baker’s likeness, voice, and performance were used in the original game, and he left a lasting impression as a villain in Sam’s mission.
Initially, Higgs, now referred to as Guitar Guy, was the main antagonist in the first game. It was later revealed that he is merely a puppet and an asset to Amelie’s grand plan to cause the next Death Stranding. Sam defeats him in combat and lets Fragile decide his fate on the beach. Fragile decided death was too good for him and thought isolation on the beach was a fitting punishment.
In the Death Stranding universe, there is no way off the beach, but Higgs managed to find a way to return in the sequel. Higgs has a lot to answer for, and Fragile’s poor judgment in the first game might cost them dearly.

Higgs Monaghan Is Back To Finish the Job in Death Stranding 2

In the first game, Higgs has a higher level of DOOMS than Sam and Fragile combined. He could summon massive Beached Things to do his bidding and even teleport whenever he pleased. In the sequel, he is armed with a massive guitar that acts as a battering ram and lightning weapon.
Being left stranded on the beach might give him the motivation to finish his job and exact vengeance. Perhaps his newfound abilities could help him bring humanity to extinction, like what he wanted in the first game.
