Calus Mini-Tool PvE God Roll Perks Explained
Barrel: For the barrel perk, the best option is hammer-forged rifling. The Calus Mini-Tool has an extremely low base range distance at 15.8 meters. This barrel allows the weapon to reach out and hit enemies at a little bit of a further range giving you a buffer zone when between you and the enemies.
Magazine: With most PVE weapons, you want to use magazine increase perks like Tactical Mag or Appended Mag. With this weapon however those choices only give 1-3 extra bullets. Instead, we are going to improve the weapons reload speed and stability by choosing Flared Magwell.
Perk 1: In this slot, Threat Detector is a sound choice. It gives a sizable boost to your weapons reload, stability, and handling animation just by being near enemies. That being said, Unrelenting is an optional choice should you want some survivability by healing when rapidly killing multiple enemies.
Part 2: Lastly, we have Incandescent. This perk spreads scorch to nearby allies of a dead enemy giving you AOE (area of effect) damage and synergizes well with the new Solar 3.0 subclasses.
Masterwork: For the masterwork, range is the obvious pick. As stated previously the base range on this SMG is quite low so boosting that stat while allowing our perks to boost our other stats allows us to have a well balanced weapon.
Mod: Minor spec in your mod slot gives you increased damage to minor enemies otherwise known as adds (additional units). Since this weapon’s primary function is add clear, minor spec gives us a little extra damage to the enemies we are trying to kill with this weapon.
Conclusion
Overall, this weapon and specifically SMGs are fantastic weapons to have in your arsenal. With a balanced perk pool and some very strong perks for PVE, the Calus Mini-Tool is a must have for any guardian.

Calus Mini-Tool PvP God Roll Perks Explained
Barrel: For the barrel, the must have choice is Full Bore. It gives the most range of any barrel giving the weapon the maximum range it can reach. It does take down a few of your other stats but since the Calus Mini-Tool struggles the most in the range department it’s more important to boost its range.
Magazine: The magazine choice here is Accurized Rounds. This is the only range boosting magazine perk available on the weapon and since range is so important in PVP as it increases your damage, aim assist, and accuracy fall off distance, it’s important we stack into the range stat.
Perk 1: We are going with Moving Target. Moving Target gives a boost in your aim assist as well as gives a speed increase while aiming down sights. Since the common method of gunfights include moving to the left and right erratically to make your enemies miss, this perk can give you the edge in any engagement.
Perk 2: The obvious choice here is Tap the Trigger since it gives a large boost in stability, recoil, and accuracy for 0.6s after you pull the trigger. Since SMGs, specifically 900rpm SMGs, have incredibly fast TTK Tap The Trigger gives you the necessary boosts in performance of your opening shots to ensure you kill your enemies as fast as you can.
Masterwork: Following a similar theme, a range masterwork is a must have. This masterwork combined with our other perks gives the maximum amount of range available on this SMG.
Mod: Targeting Adjuster is a great choice here. This gives a small boost in your aim assist making your bullets more likely to hit the target.
Conclusion
Calus Mini-Tool might suffer slightly in the range department but with the proper perks and positioning this weapon will shred any unfortunate enemy caught in your crosshair.
