Destiny 2 Imperial Decree God Roll and How to Get

Welcome to our Destiny 2 Imperial Decree God Roll and How to Get guide. The Imperial Decree is an Aggressive Frame Kinetic Shotgun that can be obtained by focusing Defiant Engrams at the War Table. It is a great Kinetic PvP Shotgun that is relatively easy to acquire and craft.

Why You Should Get the Imperial Decree Shotgun

You should get the Imperial Decree Shotgun because it is an absolute monster in PvP. It can get the exact same perks as the coveted Astral Horizon shotgun and is much easier to get. It can be crafted to get the absolute best perks in every slot as well. Here is our list of why you should get the Imperial Decree Shotgun:

  • An absolute monster in PvP
  • Easier to acquire than other options
  • Craftable

How to Obtain the Imperial Decree

To get Imperial Decree in Destiny 2, players will need to own Season of Defiance and complete the “Awaken, Queensguard” mission. This will open up the Seasonal Playlist, Defiant Battlegrounds, which drops Defiant Engrams. Defiant Engrams can be used to focus Recovered Leviathan Weapons at the War Table at the HELM. This cost 2 Defiant Engrams and 1000 Glimmer. Note that the focused engram will drop the Imperial Decree Shotgun or the class specific sword of whatever class you are on. These drops have a chance to drop with Deepsight Resonance which can be extracted to unlock the pattern for crafting the weapon on the Enclave.

Barrel: Barrel perks on shotguns in Destiny 2 is probably one of the most argued about topics in the entire game. This roll just is keeping it simple with Smallbore. A buff to Range and Stability at no cost and no weird change to pellet spread.

Magazine: In PvE, Assault Mag is always the best choice. Being able to fire faster is just amazing for damaging large targets and taking out the smaller combatants as well.

Column 3 Trait: There are a few good choices here for PvE, but nothing is an absolute must pick. The best of the bunch may be Pugilist to pair with the Column 4 trait, but Threat Detector and Auto-Loading Holster are decent as well.

Column 4 Trait: The stand out perk here is Trench Barrel. It pairs well with Pugilist as well. Surrounded and Swashbuckler would also work, but are no where near as good for most shotgun use cases.

Origin Trait: To Excess is the only choice for this weapon.

Masterwork: Handling is the best option here, but Range wouldn’t be bad either.

Mods: Shotguns in PvE typically are used to kill larger combatants so Major Spec and Boss Spec are preferable over Minor Spec.

Conclusion: While this weapon would work in PvE, there are better options. Leave this weapon and go for the PvP roll instead.

Barrel: Barrel perks on shotguns in Destiny 2 is probably one of the most argued about topics in the entire game. This roll just is keeping it simple with Smallbore. A buff to Range and Stability at no cost and no weird change to pellet spread.

Magazine: Another argument for Shotguns in PvP is over which one is better, Assault Mag or Accurized Rounds. Honestly, the jury is still out, but consider either option a great choice.

Column 3 Trait: Both Threat Detector or Surplus are great perks here. Playstyle and preference definitely determine which is best, but either choice will be great.

Column 4 Trait: Opening Shot is the premier perk for shotguns in PvP. Snapshot Sights is a good choice as well.

Origin Trait: To Excess is the only choice for this weapon.

Masterwork: Getting the Range stat up as high as it will go is absolutely the choice here.

Mods: Quick Access Sling is a great choice for fast swaps.

Conclusion: This weapons shines in PvP. It can have the same god rolls as the Trials shotgun Astral Horizon, but is much easier to acquire and can be crafter to have the perfect roll. This is absolutely worth acquiring.
